Advisor - Freshwater Strategy and Nature Finance

Stuart helps Seneca think through water resilience, conservation finance, and the partnerships needed to move environmental ideas into implementation. He is a senior water and biodiversity specialist with a global track record of developing projects, building cross-sector partnerships, and engaging development banks, UN agencies, NGOs, consultancies, and the private sector. His work focuses on connecting environmental and conservation objectives with economic development, with particular attention to water-related risk, resilience, and investment.

Stuart spent nearly 20 years at WWF, where he worked across freshwater, biodiversity, conservation finance, and partnerships. He is a recognized thought leader on water, biodiversity, and finance, and has written and spoken widely on corporate water governance, valuing water, ecological economics, regenerative agriculture, policy influence, and financing conservation work on the ground.

He serves on several advisory councils and boards and continues to develop projects and funding approaches for conservation initiatives around the world. Stuart holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the School of International Development at the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.
