Tor Hjorth-Falsted

Tor is a Sustainable Finance Specialist for Seneca Impact Advisors, specializing in nature-related finance.

Prior to Seneca Impact Advisors, Tor worked in investment management and consulting in Sub-Saharan Africa, export and project finance within the global maritime industry, and most recently spent 3 years at WWF as the Sustainable Finance Lead for Denmark. In his latter role, he engaged closely with and provided technical support to financial institutions on broader sustainable finance and ESG related topics. Among other tasks, Tor conducted annual benchmark analysis of sustainability actions among the 15 largest Danish pension funds, portfolio analysis of selected Danish pension funds’ exposure to nature-related financial risks involving hot-spot analysis and materiality assessments of impact drivers completed for sectors with significant biodiversity risks, and developed and piloted an applied and transparent approach to enable financial institutions to assess, prioritise and manage ocean-related financial risks. Tor also supported WWF’s efforts to originate and developing bankable nature solutions in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Tor graduated from Copenhagen Business School with a masters degree in finance, holds expert certification in sustainable finance and ESG from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management, and completed executive courses on impact investing in Africa from University of Cape Town. Tor is a Danish national and is currently based in Denmark.
